Tricycle Bike

The screeching, howling, roaring child in the supermarket … is something that every buyer has witnessed, and something that every parent dreads. Sooner or later, your child, too, will collapse in the cereal aisle. The big question is how you better cope with a tantrum in the supermarket without a collapse of yours? Be prepared with these tips and you and your child will have both the shop survive another day.

1. Keep your cool.

Children have tantrums because they have no other way to meet their immediate overwhelming emotions. At this time, they are not able to manage their frustrations any other way. It's your manage your voice and your emotions, even if what you probably want to do is yell right back.

Sometimes, if you do not have food frozen in the trunk, a stop at the park or make some other short and Fun non-shopping-related activities on the way home. If you can not stop on the way back, do something special together after the races are set aside. Do not do this every time or your child will come to expect a special reward each time it is "good." Make this mistake and you can expect another tantrum "supermarket" if you dare not skip the reward!
